The 20-20-20 rule
Built around the 20-20-20 rule.
Optometrists suggest a simple rhythm for screen work: every 20 minutes, look at something about 20 feet away, for 20 seconds. It gives the focusing muscles in your eyes a chance to relax, and it prompts you to blink — something most of us do far less of while staring at a Mac.
The app turns that rule into something you actually follow. Set the reminder anywhere from 20 to 120 minutes and the menu-bar eye turns red when it is time. Take a Far Gaze to look into the distance, Mindful Blinks to rehydrate, or any of the ten guided eye exercises. Each one runs 15 to 60 seconds, then you carry on.
